~~~IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED TO LISTEN USING HEADPHONES IF AT ALL POSSIBLE. THIS IS A STEREO RECORDING AND WILL LOSE SIGNIFICANT IMPACT IF PLAYED THROUGH LAPTOP OR PHONE SPEAKERS~~~
About This Track:
This song will likely be the closer to the album. While the song is written about a specific instance of heartbreak and being able to remain emotionally vulnerable after letting someone in who hurt you intentionally, The concept of all humans just being a machine of some kind is a nihilistic idea that I constantly struggle with. Are we not just some kind of meat computer hiding behind a skull and eyes, piloting a big sack of bones and muscle? I contrast the difference between fuck machines and romantic machines, saying the only real difference is that romantics like to have habits and structure, so having a partner makes it easier than just sleeping around with whoever, whenever it's possible. It's important to note that I'm not adding any moral implications to being a fuck machine versus a romantic machine. I think it's fine for people to have sex with who they want, but open communication in any type or relationship is important and if you're just using somebody for sex you should tell them.
lyrics
Lyrics:
I won't shut myself off, just because I got hurt, I know it's harder. I know it's hard. But someday I'll find another machine who treats me gently, one who cares for me.
When we went to get coffee I burnt my tongue, now I can't taste. (I really can't taste) But that's not the only thing that can't feel. She's just a machine.
When her legs were wrapped around me I wanted to scream, "I found my machine" But she never spoke of me again. This pain is mine. This pain is mine alone.
She can just find a robot whenever she's under the weather, but I like to think that I'm more than just a fuck machine. We run on oxytocin, but she gets it wherever, I'm a creature of habit, a romantic machine. (We're all machines, okay? But that's a very different situation)
I'm just a machine, so why don't you use me? (lots of angry yelling)
